Brigadoon Brewery & Brew School is a unique brewpub and teaching facility located on the grounds of the Texas Renaissance Festival in Plantersville, Texas. To our knowledge we are the only functioning brewpub located on the grounds of a renaissance festival brewing using both period specific equipment and modern equipment to brew hand crafted ale and then serving it back to the public.
Although the equipment and techniques may at first appear to be drastically different between our histoical brewing area to our modern brewing area after careful comparison one can see that the equipment may look different but the process use is basically the same and has not really changed in a 1000 years. The main difference is between the two areas is scientific measurements and labor saving equipment.
No matter the equipment or brewing area used each of our batches is hand crafted to produce a unique beverage. All batches use recipes that have been designed in house by our brew staff. Several of the recipes have been carefully researched to produce a reverse engenireed beverage that matches a specific period in history and specific region of a country. This allows visitors to not only see a peice of living history but to actually taste piece of living histo
We are a working brewpub which means that all activities are real and not staged. As a result depending on when you visit the brewery you will see different stages of brewing. This means no two visits may be the same.
